THE BASICS

About this policy

This policy applies to the current Challenge Counter HTML challenge and recovery tracker when opened in a browser or embedded in another app. It describes the behavior of the HTML version as it exists today. The browser or app that hosts it may have its own separate privacy practices.

WHAT STAYS ON YOUR DEVICE

Information stored

To provide the challenge, progress, notes, and recovery features, the app can store information you enter or create in the app, including:

  • ↳Profile and goal: your display name, the habit or behavior you choose to work on, selected categories, and your chosen start date.
  • ↳Progress: daily check-ins and progress totals or charts calculated from your start date and check-ins.
  • ↳Setback log: the number and dates of setbacks you record, along with any reason you choose to write down.
  • ↳Personal notes: notes you save in the app. These may contain sensitive details, so only write what you are comfortable keeping on this device.
  • ↳Preferences: language, appearance mode, chosen color, and other display settings.
03

WHY IT IS THERE

How the information is used

The app uses this information within the app to show your challenge day, calculate progress, display charts, keep your notes and setback history, and remember your preferences. In this version, these calculations happen on your device. The app does not use your entries to create an online profile or target advertisements.

04

LOCAL BY DESIGN

Where information is stored

The current HTML app saves its state in the browser or WebView's local storage (localStorage) on the device where you use it. This version does not require an account and has no app-operated server or database for your entries.

Storage is associated with the browser profile or app container that opened the app. Behavior can vary between opening a file directly and running it inside a WebView; the host app may manage that storage differently.

05

WHAT THIS VERSION DOES NOT DO

Information not collected

Based on the current HTML code, the app does not ask for or automatically collect your email address, phone number, identity documents, precise location, contacts, camera content, or microphone content.

The current code contains no account sign-in, advertising, analytics, third-party tracking SDK, or cookie-based tracking. It does not make network requests to send your app entries to a server. The policy website also does not include analytics or advertising scripts.

06

NO AUTOMATIC SHARING

Sharing and internet access

In the current version, your app entries are not automatically sent to the developer or shared with third parties by the HTML app. The app's reading content and interface are part of the local file; this version does not need to fetch videos, books, or other remote content to display its built-in features.

If a future version adds cloud sync, sign-in, embedded media, analytics, or other network-connected features, this policy should be updated to explain what changes before that version is distributed.

07

PORTABILITY

Backups and imports

If you choose Export file in the app, it creates a downloadable JSON backup that may contain all of your saved app data, including notes and setback reasons. Anyone who can access that file may be able to read it. Store it somewhere private.

Importing a backup replaces the current Challenge Counter data with the contents of the selected file. Deleting data from the app does not delete an exported JSON file, a copy in your Downloads folder, or backups managed separately by your device or host app.

08

YOUR CHOICE

Retention and deletion

The app does not set an automatic expiry date for saved entries. They remain in local storage until you delete them in the app or clear the relevant browser or app storage on your device.

Want to remove your app data?

Open Challenge Counter, go to Settings, choose Delete my data, and confirm. This removes the app's saved data from that app container on that device.

See all deletion options and limits

Important: this policy website is hosted separately from the app. Its link can show you the deletion instructions, but it cannot reach across origins or app containers to erase the app's local storage remotely.

09

PLEASE KEEP IN MIND

Security and host apps

Local does not mean encrypted.

This HTML app does not encrypt localStorage itself. Someone with access to your unlocked device or browser profile may be able to view your entries. Use a private, locked device and avoid leaving sensitive notes on a shared device.

The app that embeds this page, its WebView, the browser, or the operating system may access or manage storage, diagnostics, or backups under its own policies. This HTML file cannot inspect or control those practices. Please review the host app's privacy policy as well.

BEFORE DISTRIBUTION

Publisher and policy updates

Publisher: AVaS.Cx

For questions about this privacy policy, contact the publisher at by.avas.cx@gmail.com. Please do not email sensitive recovery notes. The app stores entries locally; the publisher cannot erase them from your device remotely.

If the app's data practices change, this policy should be revised before distributing the changed version. The effective date at the top should then be updated.
